More about WPred
Our team
WPred was founded by Dr. Christophe Sibuet Watters, an engineer with 20 years of experience in the wind industry sector, and a specialist in numerical modeling of wind turbines and atmospheric flow. He has worked in several R&D institutions, as well as consultant for the wind energy sector.
Thomas-Antoine O'Neill leads software development efforts at WPred. With tons of enterprise software experience under his belt, he teamed up with WPred four years ago to build WPlanif: an innovative calendar web application that helps wind farm maintenance teams schedule their work while taking wind power forecasts into account.
Louis-Etienne Boudreault holds a Ph.D. in Wind Energy from Denmark Technical University and is specialized in renewable energy meteorology (resource assessment and forecasting). He has pursued an international career in both academic and commercial sectors before joining WPred in 2022 as a technical and commercial developer.
Richard Diamond holds a college degree from cégep André-Laurendeau. After two internships, he is now working full-time to develop WPred' cloud computing infrastructure to answer tomorrow's needs.
Lina Elfekair holds a university degree in Earth and Atmospheric sciences from Université du Québec à Montréal and is WPred weathergirl. She answers our client needs by organizing tailored weather briefings or through weather warning communications.
Our academic partners
Aurélien Froger is a french PhD student in Operations Research. He studies both at Angers - Institut de Mathématiques Appliquées and Polytechnique Montréal. He is currently partnering with WPred to bring his domain expertise to bear on the problem of maintenance schedule optimization in wind farms.
Our alumni
Olivia Beauregard-Harvey is a graduate of Polytechnique Montréal and has been working for WPred between 2016 and 2022. In addition to developing WPred' business, she contributed to significant improvements of our forecasting techniques in wind energy by reforcing our predictive capacities both in short-term (nowcasting) or very long-term (seasonal forecasting). Still involved in the renewable energy sector, she is now working as analyst for Dunsky Energy Consulting
François Bergeron a graduate of Polytechnique Montréal and has been working for WPred between 2015 and 2018. In addition to developing WPred' business, he contributed to significant improvements of our forecasting techniques, both in solar and wind energy. Still involved in the renewable energy sector, she is now working as project manager for DNV
Frédérick Boulay was the favorite forecaster of our airport clients. He is now working for Environment Canada, still as a forecaster
Hugo Migneron worked as the main IT developer of our website and software applications between 2012 and 2016. He actively and brillantly contributed to the technological developement of WPred during this period of time.
Jérôme Solis is a graduate of Physics Engineering at Polytechnique Montréal. He's always on the lookout for opportunities to share about innovative solutions that help drive the growth of renewable energy in power systems. He joined WPred in 2012 to develop its wind and airport activities in Canada and around the world.
Hugues Normandin was the second member of WPred and its main IT specialist at the time, managing WPred's highly computerized environment. He has more than 10 years experience in the IT field, having worked for foreign educational institutions, and is an expert in the field of IT security.
